Colin has been the minister since September 2001 and is also superintendent minister of the Barnet & Queensbury circuit of Methodist churches which covers the London Borough of Barnet and part of Brent. He previously served as a minister in Brighton and Hove and in south-west London where he was based in Putney. He originally trained as a barrister and managed a citizens’ advice bureau at Thamesmead in south-east London. He was born in Buckinghamshire but brought up in Montgomeryshire in mid-Wales. He graduated in law at Aberystwyth University. He later trained for the Methodist ministry at Wesley College, Bristol and more recently obtained an MA in Christian Spirituality from the University of Wales. Colin is the British Secretary of the Oxford Institute of Methodist Theological Studies (a theological conference held under the auspices of the World Methodist Council) and is a member of the advisory committee of the Open University's 'Building on History - Religion in London' project He is a member of the governing bodies of St Mary’s Church of England Primary School in East Barnet and of Oakleigh School. He is an associate minister of St Mary’s Church in East Barnet and is also the minister of Manor Drive Methodist Church, Friern Barnet. He is deeply interested in Christian-Jewish relations and in March 2012 is attending a major seminar at Yad Vashem, the holocaust museum in Jerusalem. He is a trustee of the North Bank Estate in Muswell Hill, which includes the Guy Chester Centre, and of the High Barnet Good Neighbour Scheme. He was born into a Church of Ireland family, baptised in the Church of England and confirmed in the Church in Wales! He became a Methodist when he first moved to London in 1981. He enjoys finding out about his family history and is descended from a marine who served on HMS Temeraire at the Battle of Trafalgar. minister@barnetbrookside.co.uk
Graham was born in East Barnet and has lived within the area all of his life. Graham has been married for 14 years and has two daughters. He has been employed by a major high street bank for over 25 years undertaking many different roles over the years in the IT department. His work on Integration projects stood him in good stead for the joining of East Barnet and High Barnet churches last year. Graham enjoys travelling and has been across the Atlantic to both America and Canada several times .
Rob lives in Barnet with his wife Jenny. He has two grown up children Clare and Jonathan. Rob is retired but spends time working with websites He is a Church steward at the Sunday morning Celebration at Wesley Hall, plays badminton and enjoys cycling and walking. webmaster@barnetbrookside.co.uk
